Leading the EAD criminal defence team

Gary Davis heads up the team and his expertise in criminal defence covers tax fraud and in particular the fraudulent evasion of VAT as well as dealing with criminal defence matters concerning asset restraint and confiscation proceedings. Gary has a particular interest in criminal defence in regard to assisting those suspected in investigations where collusion in procurement processes is alleged. Gary recently successfully represented a lead Defendant in a major criminal defence case for a high profile procurement fraud. He has also worked on Internet copyright and trade mark criminal defence cases investigated by the National High Tech Crime Unit (NHTCU).

This case was one of the first of its kind because a Medical Negligence was made to seek compensation for the costs of surrogacy. She is particularly well known as an expert in Medical Negligence cases involving women's health and has been involved in high profile 'right to life' cases.

Advice from the wills and probate team - Making a Will

It is a common belief heard in the wills and probate department that a person doesn't need to make a Will, as everything in their Estate will go to their husband or wife. If there is no Will, the surviving spouse would only receive the first 125,000 of the Estate, and if they have no children they would only receive the first 200,000. The wills and probate team would advise that in the case of having no children, there is the distinct possibility that part of their Estate will be passed to the deceased's parents. Alternatively, the wills and probate team would advise that the Estate could go to brothers and sisters of the deceased, in the event that the Estate does not exceed 200,000. EAD Solicitors LLP's wills and probate team would recommend that it is vital to make a Will so that your wishes for your Estate are carried out after death.
