EAD Solicitors LLP has continued its support of Liverpool University Law School by awarding the 2009 EAD Solicitors Employment Law Shield to Charlotte McHugh. Paul McCarthy, partner at EAD Solicitors LLP presented the award at the official ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Queen Square, Liverpool. The EAD Employment Law Shield is awarded to the student who achieves the highest marks in the employment law paper. Charlotte gained a First Class Honours Degree in Law and will shortly start her Legal Practice Course - the next step to becoming a solicitor. Paul also presented the Conkerton Memorial Prize on behalf of Liverpool Law Society to Joanna Codling, who achieved the best second year examination results at Liverpool University Law School. Commenting on the awards, Paul McCarthy said: "We are delighted to continue our support of the university. Both Charlotte and Joanna have achieved outstanding results and thoroughly deserve this recognition." He added: "As a firm, EAD Solicitors is proud to play a part in the growth and development of Liverpool's legal profession and we wish both students the very best of luck in their future law careers." Commenting on her award, Charlotte, who also collected a cheque for £150, said: "I'm absolutely delighted. To collect this award from one of Liverpool's most well respected law firms is a real honour." Joanna, whose ambition is to be a corporate / commercial lawyer, added: "I am thrilled to win the Conkerton prize. Liverpool University is a great place to study law."
