EAD secures compensation for victim of sexual assault

EAD Solicitors LLP, acting on behalf of a GMB member's 18 year old daughter, has recently helped secure compensation for her after she was the victim of a sexual assault.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was assaulted by a stranger when she was 17 and EAD Solicitors took her case to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

Helen Powell, who works as a solicitor in the Personal Injury team at EAD Solicitors and who dealt with this case commented:

"Both myself and my client were shocked when her claim was initially rejected on the basis that there was not enough evidence.

"She was extremely upset so we took the case to a review, where thankfully the claim was proved successful. My client was awarded almost £12,000."

Concluded Helen:

"Afterwards, we received a letter of thanks from the client stating that although she will never get over what happened to her, she was grateful to us for the help provided and said that without it the case would not have been won."
