Occupational Asthma & Respiratory Diseases

Many respiratory conditions can be caused by your workplace, with the most common being occupational asthma. Usually exposure to a type of chemical, dust, substance or the conditions of the environment in which you work will be responsible. Industries which can result in work related respiratory conditions include chemical manufacture, detergent and cleaning goods manufacture, rubber manufacture, dye and paint manufacture, industries utilising isocyanates in the manufacture process, welding and fabricating, woodworking, food production, cotton and textile industry, mills and many more.

If you have worked in any of these industries and suffer with breathing difficulties then it may be that you have grounds to make a occupational asthma claim.

Work related/occupational asthma and other respiratory conditions can be extremely unpleasant and affect the individual profoundly. They can cause loss of sleep, lethargy and lack of motivation. Breathlessness can occur even after the shortest period of exercise making everyday activities such as climbing stairs difficult and painful.

Typical work related respiratory conditions include:
•    Asthma
•    Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
•    Emphysema
•    Lung Cancer

Our team of specialist occupational asthma solicitors have vast experience obtaining compensation in work related asthma and other respiratory claims, and can give sympathetic help and advice.
