Training Contracts at EAD
Why choose us?
EAD Solicitors is a medium sized Liverpool based practice with a
strong reputation in providing the 'personal' touch. We work
extensively with trade unions, local businesses and individual
clients, who all receive the same expertise and commitment from us
whether existing clients or instructing us for the first time…..our
clients are our business.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for trainees who can enhance our practice with
fresh ideas and share our passion for providing our clients with
quality service that makes a difference……after all you are our
future.
Ideally you should have a 2:1 degree, but we are also interested in
applications from people with life experience above and beyond a
law degree.
What can we offer you?
We offer comprehensive training in a choice of 4 out of 5 seats
usually lasting a period of 6 months each over a 2 year training
period. As a trainee you may find yourself, assisting on a criminal
matter, working with our personal injury and road traffic accident
teams, providing employment advice to union officers and their
members or assisting in a commercial transaction. Whichever team
you are with, we can promise you a friendly, modern environment and
a challenging career ahead. Embarking on a career in law can be a
daunting experience, but we are here to help you throughout your
training contract. Stephen Cornforth is our training principal and
he will look after your professional development and pastoral care,
in conjunction with our human resource department.
As part of your development, you will attend our in-house law
society accredited training programmes, as well as external courses
and seminars to complete the Professional Skills Course. Our aim is
to provide you with the skills you need to develop and we pride
ourselves on offering the support you will need to begin your legal
career.
What should you do now?
If you want to be part of our team and are excited by the
challenge of a career in law, then please complete our online
application form .
Undergraduates should apply in their final year of study. In all
cases, applications should be sent by the end of August of the year
preceding the start of the training contract. Initial interviews
will take place in the autumn, an offer is made by the end of
January. Training contracts commence at the start of September each
year.
Each year we receive a large number of applications for the coveted
position of trainee. Out of these, we will interview less than 10
and offer two places, so competition is tough, but don't let this
deter you. If you have an impressive academic record, a
determination to succeed, excellent written and spoken
communication skills, we want to hear from you.
Please note that we will not be recruiting or accepting
applications for trainee solicitors until April 2012.
Vacation Placement
We also offer the opportunity to taste life as a trainee during
our summer vacation placement scheme. You will spend two weeks with
us working directly with our own trainee
solicitors. Application is by CV & covering letter to Rita
Tracy, Human Resources at the address below.
Prospect House, Columbus Quay, Liverpool L3 4DB.
