National legal firm, EAD is supporting a Liverpool based charity to help prevent a fatal heart condition.
The Oliver King Foundation has set up an e-petition calling on the Government to take a bigger role in providing defibrillators for every school and sports hall throughout the UK, so that help is at hand for anyone suffering from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).
To date over 100,000 people have signed up to support the campaign, which means Parliament will now debate its proposal, which is absolutely fantastic news.
SADS commonly affects people between the age of 12 and 35 and is caused by heart rhythm abnormalities which can be fatal if left undiagnosed.
The Foundation was set up by Mark King whose 12 year old son, Oliver died suddenly from SADS in March 2011. Since then Mark has campaigned tirelessly to educate people about the dangers of the condition and has already won the backing of Liverpool City Council which has pledged to supply a defibrillator to every primary school in Liverpool.
The charity hosts a number of fundraising events and PR drives throughout the year to boost awareness about SADS so that people can learn to recognise the symptoms and take preventative measures. Mark also wants Parliament to make ECG screenings easily available to youngsters who may be affected by the condition.
Speaking of EAD’s involvement, Mark added: “We’re delighted to have the support of EAD and the iPad will make the process of collecting signatures a lot easier. This is a dangerous condition that can affect young people without them even knowing about it and the consequences can be devastating, which is why it is vital we raise awareness and push the Government to put measures into place to prevent any more unnecessary deaths.”
Extremely happy with the outcome of my Personal Injury Claim and can only thank Paul McCarthy and his team at EAD Solicitors and also Tim Trotman my barrister arranged by EAD, for all their work and efforts on my behalf. As such I would highly recommend EAD to anyone in need of their service. Once again thanks to all involved.
