The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent group of experts set up by parliament in order to resolve unsettled disputes between consumers and financial businesses.
Since the PPI mis-selling scandal took hold FOS have been acting as an impartial judge to settle complaints. The Ombudsman deal with thousands of PPI complaints each year. Once the complaints procedure has been exhausted with the lender who sold you your PPI we can take your complaint to FOS; so just because your lender says no doesn’t mean that you don’t have a claim.
The Ombudsman released figures based on PPI complaints reviewed between 01/01/2012 and 30/06/2012 to show how many PPI complaints had been resolved in favour of the consumer. The average for complaints settled in favour of the consumer for all businesses was 71%, that’s nearly three-quarters of all complaints handled by FOS upheld in favour of the consumer. Below is a link to the ombudsman site giving more information about the amounts of PPI complaint upheld over the period of January to June 2012.
Extremely happy with the outcome of my Personal Injury Claim and can only thank Paul McCarthy and his team at EAD Solicitors and also Tim Trotman my barrister arranged by EAD, for all their work and efforts on my behalf. As such I would highly recommend EAD to anyone in need of their service. Once again thanks to all involved.
