Body piercing is the practice of cutting or puncturing part of the body so that an opening is made in which jewellery can be worn. Body piercing has become increasingly popular, to an extent that the conventional ear piercing is not the only thing people desire to have pierced nowadays.
Ears, nose, lip, tongue, belly button and neck are some of the piercings people now desire. It is not just the piercing location on the body which has changed. More extravagant and bizarre jewellery has become available for piercing, and as a result so have the methods of piercing, such as stretching and dermal anchors.
Body piercing has been regulated in the UK since 2006. Although the industry is regulated there is no specifically approved training course available for body piercing.
If a piercing establishment has not registered with your local council then you should avoid getting anything pierced using their facilities. Unregistered practitioners are more likely to use unsafe piercing techniques and are less likely to adhere to good hygiene and sterilisation practises. Unfortunately, however, the same can be said for a number of licensed piercing parlours.
Risk of Body Piercing
As piercing involves the cutting or piercing of human flesh there comes a risk of certain injuries or complications, such as:
Punctured artery or nerve

Extremely happy with the outcome of my Personal Injury Claim and can only thank Paul McCarthy and his team at EAD Solicitors and also Tim Trotman my barrister arranged by EAD, for all their work and efforts on my behalf. As such I would highly recommend EAD to anyone in need of their service. Once again thanks to all involved.
