A common, yet unfortunate injury caused during a road traffic accident and other insistences such as; assaults, slips and sport injuries to name a few is whiplash. The sufferer endures a restriction in movement around the neck area which can lead to headaches, muscle spasms and general pain. Depending on the seriousness of the symptoms or the current physical state of the injured party prior to the injury, it can last anywhere between 3 to 6 months, however for some this can be much longer.
The debilitating effects can be so severe that they can limit your ability to perform normal routine tasks such as driving, walking or cooking. This can have a significant impact on your working environment, particularly for those who have demanding psychical roles – and in any case, a desk role is just as problematic due to the nature of the seating and head position in gaining the required alignment with a computer for example.
Claim Compensation for Whiplash
If you feel someone else is to blame for you suffering whiplash, you may be able to claim for whiplash. It will be important to write down exactly what happened during the event as you will then have a clearer perception of the circumstances during a court case. Examples of things to include are; the time of the occurrence, where it took place, the witnesses who were present and any other points which may help your claim such as weather conditions and the driving of those vehicles involved.
Steps to Take
To accompany your version of events, those witnesses that were identified by you will need to present a statement offering their opinion on the events. The extent of your injury will have a bearing on the amount of compensation you receive; therefore it will be important to gain evidence from medical experts in the form of a doctor’s note or examination report. But to help protect your whiplash accident claim, this examination needs to be delivered as soon as possible.
Ensure the doctor takes a detailed report which outlines the specific nature of the injury and the likely duration of time to expect a recovery. We know that they can be very damaging to your life, so please get as much information as possible so that we can help you.
Extremely happy with the outcome of my Personal Injury Claim and can only thank Paul McCarthy and his team at EAD Solicitors and also Tim Trotman my barrister arranged by EAD, for all their work and efforts on my behalf. As such I would highly recommend EAD to anyone in need of their service. Once again thanks to all involved.
